A LECTURE OF THE DHE'NAR - STARSNUFFER SUNSLAYER

Silvergate Inn, June 1997

In June 1997, Starsnuffer was invited by Silvergate Inn to provide insight to a new culture being developed. The Dhe’nar culture was player-created, and approved by staff. At the time of this lecture, Dhe’nar was not a racial trait that could be chosen. Thus, the Dhe’narsi language, roleplay and attire helped differentiate the Dhe’nar from Faendryl.

The race was roughly based on lore about the race of dyar, which is a race of dark elves from Iron Crown’s Shadow World – the original source for Gemstone IV and drow, which is based on TSR’s Forgotten Realms. A smattering of saviors, villains and prophets gave the Dhe’nar culture life, and two new race options were born.

I have put Starsnuffer’s lecture in a series, as the entire piece came to about ten pages. To make it easier to read, I have categorized his lecture into sections below:

A Lecture of the Dhe’nar: Part 1, Ancient History, Sharath
A Lecture of the Dhe’nar: Part 2, The Fall and rebuilding.
A Lecture of the Dhe’nar: Part 3, Q&A, Dark Dwarves
