The Dhe'nar of The Tower

Note:  This was a parody of "Eye of the Tiger". All original notes, log and old Angelfire link can no longer be found. Remaining is only old notes I kept on the performance that may be interesting to see my thought process.
If someday I find the full version, I will update - but I have no intention to guess in the meantime.

This is certainly not my proudest work and is from 2006. Because it IS a parody - Talinvor would never perform this again.

Highlord at the time was Starshadow.

(action 1)

Verse I

From Sharath, out on their own
Branching out from the jungle

Came to here, and you’d think they’d have known
(something something something something rhymes with line)

  • people shun what we don’t seem to mind??

chorus

They’re the Dhe’nar of the Tower, it’s a frightening sight

Exclusive and much hated by outsiders

But they have suffered long and with arduous plight

Adapting to the hardships of their culture

(action 2)

Verse 2

Now Evarin, a man of distinction
Has two slaves in his (own?) service
He prides himself on what most tend to shun
(He lost himself with what most tend to shun)

Yet he struggles just to keep them in line
Was it fate or was it by design?

(action 3)

Verse 3

There is one, Xandalf’s his name
Holds High Priest as his title
His students soon learn, that talk is his game
And q’halae just don’t have the time
(And empty are the tasks you assign)

chorus

(oh!) They’re the Dhe’nar of the Tower, it’s a terrible sight
Exclusive and much hated by outsiders

But they have suffered long and with arduous plight

Adapting to the hardships of their culture

(action 4)

Verse 4

Highlord sits on the Obsidian Chair
Can’t find her way to the Tower
It’s no wonder she has q’halae most fair

She can admire what she stands behind!

Verse 5

There is one, that’s obsessed by perfection
...

Song actions:

1. Talinvor plucks a few strings of his ______, testing the pitch. He fingers a few chords, then nods to himself in satisfaction.

2. Talinvor glides his fingers down the strings of his _____ in a catchy rhythm. He taps his foot to measure the beats and begins to sing in a _____ timbre.

3. Talinvor strums a few chords, then plucks out the harmony at a more leisurely pace. His voice settles in a more amused tone as he continues.

4. Talinvor glides his fingers down the strings, stretching the chords and plucking out the repeated refrain. He grins widly, white teeth flashing as he begins the next verse.

5. Talinvor strums a chord, letting the soft sound linger. A brief moment of silence endures as his voice picks up the chorus.
