SLAVES IN ELANTHIA

Dhe'nar are considered slavers as part of their culture, yet offering freedoms to gain respect and honor among their kind. Yet often we forget that this concept is neither new nor unique to Elanthia.

Dhe’nar are considered to be one of the major cultures that utilize slavery in Elanthia. The culture is disliked by many, though mainly through ignorance or a poor experience.

However, Elanthian history is riddled with samples of it throughout history and the astute reader should acknowledge the historical prevalence of the practice before passing judgement.

Eorgina: The goddess used elven slaves as builders and artisans to build her abode before throwing them off a cliff in fits of rage.

Humans: Political rivals are constantly at war, and often find themselves in danger of being sent into slavery. Under the Rysus Codex of 4694, slaves had no rights. It was returned again under Hochstib, and yet another wave of slavery and outright slaughter was under Chaston’s banner of Koar zealotry and personal financial gains. Additionally they have been known for their abuses to dwarves as well.

Elves: While they often did political battle with one another, they were less likely to enslave each other as the humans do. Humans themselves have found themselves as slaves to elves and more common to the Faendryl than the other Houses.

Krolvin: The race is well known to be slavers, taking preference for females in order to create half-breeds under the guidance of their leader Krintaur. Effectively raping women under their breeding program, this caused some races – like elves to die in the attempt to bear the krolvin’s spawn. While the half-breeds are effectively the product of rape, they are now their own cultural sub-class. However their parentage of the pure krolvin still practice slavery off the coasts of Darkstone Bay.

Kiramon: The Aelotoi were originally humans, stolen by a now dead arkati in an attempt to save them during the Drake and Ur’Daemon war. A portal created to transport Kiramon off-world, by some fluke – ended up on the very same planet these humans had been absconded.  The Kiramon, being capable of genetic experimentation were able to exploit and transform the humans into pixie-like creatures with wings to do mining. The Aelotoi are, effectively a race created specifically for slavery. While most take on adventuring with their new found freedom, some still cling to old ways and are of submissive temperament.
